Thank you! My drawing teacher encouraged me to make my relief prints look more like drawings or paintings, to really push the boundary between printmaking and drawings, sooo..... I did XD. I'm currently working on a project that combines relief printing and calligraph to really make it atmospheric. So, stay tuned!

Wow. I just realized that I haven't commented on this! I don't know why I haven't, it's beautifully done! The face is really, really beautiful. The pattern is very interesting as well, and you got the white areas so nice and empty of stray marks. I bet that took a lot of time!

When I first saw this, aside from be taken in by the tones and organic flow, I immediately thought of the band Bauhaus. Not that this piece necessarily has anything to with with their music, but it feels like it to me.

Really stunning.

The freedom of mark to take on its own character and not remain bound to exclusive service of the figure is what I enjoy most about this image.
The immediate figure "face" lends a nice stability to the image but remains iconic and symbolic enough to let the viewer appreciate the pure formal aspects but without wandering too far into subjective interpretation.

Like having a rock solid road map while wandering in the desert, without the stress of being totally lost, you can enjoy the exotic scenery.
